Throughout the year, directors and members work with Duneland educators, administrators, community members and businesses to share the story of the foundation and to increase grant opportunities for Duneland educators.
The Duneland Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides financial resources to enhance opportunities for educational experiences for all K - 12 students of the Duneland community.

Chesterton High School hosted the 23rd annual 5% Club Banquet for 22 students of the 2012 senior class at the Water Bird Inn and Spa.
The Duneland Education Foundation awarded Chesterton High School vocational student Kyle Gilbert, senior, with a monetary honorarium for his creation of a promotional video for the DEF. Kyle created his recording in the video production class at the Porter County Career Center in Valparaiso.
Has always been focused on servicing not only his clients but the communities in which he works. He is President of Anton Insurance Agency and an active board member of the Duneland YMCA and Duneland Education Foundation. Michael enjoys participating in the Foundation's Derby Downs and has sponsored horses in the past and plans to in the years to come.
Served as a teacher for four years, a counselor for two years, and a principal for 31 years. His wife is a retired Duneland teacher and his daughter is currently teaching there. He is the father of three other children. Administrators, teachers, and staff are committed to Duneland school excellence. DEF can help them make a difference for its students!
Has nearly twenty years of experience in managing change and leading transformational projects in the financial services industry. These projects have been concentrated in merger integration, sales management, client information, and communication training. Kristin’s success in these roles has been bolstered by her inherent ability to modify business practices through the use of technology.
